Can I smoke marijuana after my TT and BBL?

After you've healed from your abdominoplasty there should be no problem smoking marijuana. Nevertheless, this is something you should have cleared by your plastic surgeon.

Any form of smoking should be avoided for at least two weeks before and two weeks after tummy tuck surgery. You should then ask your plastic surgeon if marijuana smoking can be resumed at that point.

Smoking of any kind should be avoided for the first 2 weeks after an abdominoplasty.  You should also avoid second hand smoke.  While I know of no specific study that shows a relationship between marijuana smoking and healing I would think it would adversely effect healing.  

Any smoking product containes carbon monoxide which could impair wound healing. Check with your surgeon about marijuana use. If you are not smoking it under the guidance of a physician then you should seriously consider getting help to relive your stress.

thank you for your post.  Since there is no nicotine in Marijuana, it is less harmful than tobacco.  However, there is carbon monoxide in smoke.  Marijuana in a vaporizer is safer than in smoke.  However, as with anything, you should let your surgeon know what you are doing.

It's not as harmful as nicotine, but it can interfere with wound healing, and second hand smoke can also be a problem. This is true for any of the lift procedures, include TT, breast lift and reduction, and face lift.  By six weeks this should no longer be an issue, but check with your surgeon.

Dear Chitown girl01,  All smoke-tobacco or marijuana-contains carbon monoxide which will impair wound healing therefore you should not smoke anything until you have been cleared by your plastic surgeon.  Second hand smoke also has carbon monoxide and should also be avoided. This is a good subject to discuss with you plastic surgeon who can help you through this healing stage of your recovery.
