Thanks for the question, we have really moved away from smart lipo as itr has been found that the device does not melt fat or tighten skin as good as vaser energy. Technically you can have surgery on another area in 24 hours because that is how long it takes for the lidocaine to leave your system
Hello & Thank you for your question.Yes, you can have smart lipo done 6 months or within weeks of having other areas treated. Consult with your surgeon to discuss his recommendations. Best of luck!
Dear Blasian17,Most plastic surgeons will recommend you to wait at least 6 months prior to another elective procedure. But every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
If you are happy with your interim results from your initial procedure, I would advise speaking with your doctor to see when they believe it is appropriate to have additional areas addressed. Generally speaking it would be advantageous to wait 2-3 months to give your body time to heal.
The response to your question is simple. Have you recovered energy-wise? Your age is important too. Younger patients bounce back sooner than older patients. I normally ask my patient how they feel. Everyone should be treated as an individual and it all depends how quickly the patient recovers. I have performed smartlipo on an additional area as soon as 1 month. Six months is a long time between procedures. Hope this helps
There is a limit to the amount of lidocaine that can be safely used in one session depending on the weight of the patient. The procedure is also physically and mentally exhausting if too many areas are attempted in one session. Therefore, many patients require multiple sessions to safely and comfortably reach their goals. I have performed the second session as soon as a week later up to 6 months later depending on the patient's timeline and willingness.
Thank you for your question. You can have smart lips at this time provided your health status is good. Please talk to your Surgeon.
A healthy body requires approximately 3 months to recover from just about any surgical procedure. Most procedures can be repeated after that time or after the swelling in the original area of liposuction has gone down. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City
as long as you're not having liposuction me in an area previously treated you don't need to wait any particular amount of time and can move forward and have the procedure now. One advantage to waiting a full six months is that you could have the front of your abdomen re-treated if there are areas that could use improvements despite having had previous liposuction. It's not completely wrong to do liposuction on the same area within the first six months but it is less than ideal. It should definitely not be done within the first three months. Hi and welcome to our forum!Every State has laws regarding the absolute maximum amount offat to be removed in one sitting. In Florida, for example, we can remove 4liters of supernatant fat (approx 6-8 lbs.). If more fat removal is anticipated, the procedure can be broken up into body segments, separating the procedures by aperiod of time necessary to recover and achieve fluid equilibrium. Iflaboratory results are satisfactory, a 2 week delay between procedures may beadequate. If the same body segment is to be re-liposuctioned, a 6 month delay between procedures is necessary to allow for healing. Please note that liposuction was not designed as a weight lossprocedure. It is designed as a reshaping procedure. There are much moresatisfactory ways to achieve significant weight loss, such as the gastricsleeve, a bariatric surgical procedure. With a sleeve, you can reduce yourweight by 60-150 lbs with one procedure, while with liposuction, you can onlyremove 8 lbs,/ procedure. In our practice, we find that if your BMI is > 30 the resultwill be less than satisfactory and if your BMI is >35, your complicationrate will climb. Best wishes...
