I’m not interested in a tummy tuck at all and I’m hoping that the smart lipo procedure will help to restore some of my confidence. My biggest concern is being able to see the lines through my clothing. After countless before and after pictures, I’m feeling more and more torn. Some people’s results seem incredible, while others’ are barely noticeable. Will this procedure be worth the cost?
Answer: To Tummy Tuck...or not to tummy tuck Liposuction is the treatment that help you lose several inches from your waistline, lose several pounds, inspire you to change (for the better) your lifestyle, and provide you with the hour glass figure that you had in the past. Laxity of the skin is subtle. I have treated patients whose “apron” was resting on their thighs, yet two months post lipo they could see their toes again.

Answer: Smart Lipo Thank You for your photos. In my experience & professional suggestion, I believe you will benefit from smart liposuction. All though it is always best to be examined, I can see the laxity of your skin which I feel you would benefit.Best,Dr. Elliot Heller

Answer: Smart Lipo Thank you for your question. Based on your photos I believe any type of Liposuction( Laser assisted or not ) done correctly will help contour the area, but not necesseraly the loose skin of the lower abdomen. Because most of your skin laxity is very low and not at the upper abdomen, you can achieve great results with Liposuction+ Mini Tummy Tuck: Faster recovery, shorter lower abdominal scar eliminating scar around belly button. But for optimal results, a full tummy tuck is the way to go! This will allow the surgeon to remove the skin with stretch marks above and below belli button + tighten up the abdominal wall muscle, which will give you the flattest and youngest looking belly. Good luck to you.

Answer: SmartLipo or any lipo, for that matter... From the photos you submitted, it is clear that you do have some skin laxity, but not enough that you would have to worry about having a fold of skin overhanging your waistline after liposuction of any kind, in my opinion. An individual's skin-tightening response to liposuction of any kind can be difficult to predict. Some people will get a great response, even without any additional energy based treatment to the skin, such as the laser energy used in a SmartLipo procedure. Other individuals, will get little to no response to anything we do and it is very difficult to predict. I do believe that the addition of heat energy to a liposuction procedure will enhance whatever skin-tightening effect you would have had without it. SmartLipo is one brand among many that can give great skin-tightening results. In addition to laser energy, the energy sources of mechanical ultrasonic vibration, ultrasound energy, radiofrequency energy, and plasma energy are all currently in use today. More important than the brand of device is the skill and experience of the surgeon. In skilled hands, you can expect to get an excellent result without need for skin excision, but you will just have to be willing to accept some degree of persistent skin laxity. This may manifest as what I call a "frowny-face belly button" or wavy, "crinkly" skin below the belly button. The only sure way to get rid of those is with skin excision: tummy tuck or even a "mini" tummy tuck, where only the skin from the pubis to about half-way up to the belly button is removed (much faster recovery and can be awake). I hope this was helpful - best of luck!

Answer: Lipo vs Tummy tuck Thank you for your question. Looking at the photos I do believe a laser assisted Liposuction will help contour the area, but may not help with the loose skin 100%. For optimal results I would recommend a full tummy tuck to be done. This will allow your surgeon of choice to remove the extra skin and tighten up the abdominal wall muscle, which will give you the flattest looking belly. If you say your ok with a little extra skin then Jplasma lipo or Smart lipo will be ok. I would see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you and give you their recommendation. Best of luck to you.
