I'm hoping Smart Lipo will help mother’s apron? (Photos)

Thank you for your question.  Looking at the photos I do believe a laser assisted Liposuction will help contour the area, but may not help with the loose skin 100%.  For optimal results I would recommend a full tummy tuck to be done.  This will allow your surgeon of choice to remove the extra skin and tighten up the abdominal wall muscle, which will give you the flattest looking belly.  If you say your ok with a little extra skin then Jplasma lipo or Smart lipo will be ok.  I would see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you and give you their recommendation.  Best of luck to you. 

I have been performing Laser and RF assisted liposuction for 15 years, which is sometime called SmartLipo. It can give a good amount of skin tightening along with the nice sculpting away of the fat. There is some variability in results depending on the Laser and RF RadioFrenquency energy device used, the skin and the technique of the surgeon operating it and the underlying laxity of the skin being treated. Studies have shown that liposuction combined with Laser or RF energy can achieve 2/3 of the skin tightening that is achieved with an open surgery such as a tummy tuck. While 2/3 of the skin tightening is not the 100% it is close and often close enough to get a good to excellent result.  In summary, downside is that it SmartLipo / Laser or RF Assisted Lipo can not give quite as much skin tightening and for very large abdomen, it does not remove quite as much fat. The upside of the Liposuction plus Laser and RF energy is the recovery is shorter, no need for general anesthesia, which adds risk, and there is no scar across your lower abdomen.

Based on your photos I believe any type of Liposuction( Laser assisted or not ) done correctly will help contour the area, but not necesseraly the loose skin of the lower abdomen. Because most of your skin laxity is very low and not at the upper abdomen, you can achieve great results with Liposuction+ Mini Tummy Tuck: Faster recovery, shorter lower abdominal scar eliminating scar around belly button. But for optimal results, a full tummy tuck is the way to go! This will allow the surgeon to remove the skin with stretch marks above and below belli button + tighten up the abdominal wall muscle, which will give you the flattest and youngest looking belly. From the photos you submitted, it is clear that you do have some skin laxity, but not enough that you would have to worry about having a fold of skin overhanging your waistline after liposuction of any kind, in my opinion.  An individual's skin-tightening response to liposuction of any kind can be difficult to predict.  Some people will get a great response, even without any additional energy based treatment to the skin, such as the laser energy used in a SmartLipo procedure.  Other individuals, will get little to no response to anything we do and it is very difficult to predict.  I do believe that the addition of heat energy to a liposuction procedure will enhance whatever skin-tightening effect you would have had without it.  SmartLipo is one brand among many that can give great skin-tightening results.  In addition to laser energy, the energy sources of mechanical ultrasonic vibration, ultrasound energy, radiofrequency energy, and plasma energy are all currently in use today.  More important than the brand of device is the skill and experience of the surgeon.  In skilled hands, you can expect to get an excellent result without need for skin excision, but you will just have to be willing to accept some degree of persistent skin laxity.  This may manifest as what I call a "frowny-face belly button" or wavy, "crinkly" skin below the belly button.  The only sure way to get rid of those is with skin excision: tummy tuck or even a "mini" tummy tuck, where only the skin from the pubis to about half-way up to the belly button is removed (much faster recovery and can be awake).   I hope this was helpful - best of luck!

In this regard, I recommend you a Tummy Tuck to get a flat abdomen and waist and back Liposculpture, getting better curves especially in the waist, improving your body contour.

Hmmm.... ok I guess it could help, but truly I am not confident.  I like Renuvion for issues like yours but I am not sure that you'd be completely happy  with SmartLipo as you already have some wrinkles.  The most aggressive skin tightening I think comes from Renuvion.  Best Wishes!!

Thank you for your question and photos. From the information you have provided, it looks like you have a bit of tummy fat, some excess skin and laxity. The procedure that will give you the most aesthetically pleasing result would be an abdominoplasty as it will remove the excess skin, tummy fat and at the same time tighten your abdominal wall. If you are absolutely against a tummy tuck, a combination of High Def VASER liposuction with Renuvion for the upper abdomen and minituck for the lower abdomen will also produce dramatic results. 

An in person or video consultation with a board certified Plastic/Cosmetic Surgeon will provide you a better insight and direct you to the procedure that's right for you. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question and photos.While it is impossible to make a full assessment just from images, you do look like an excellent candidate for a liposuction treatment. Liposuction uses narrow tubes to remove unwanted fat from a treatment area, creating a smoother, slimmer contour. While Smart Lipo is one option, it is not your only liposuction choice. In my office, we offer Awake lipo, which can be done using local anesthesia and requires a shorter recovery period than some liposuction techniques. No matter which technique you choose, make sure it is administered by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist for the best possible results.
