How to tell if hair grafts were too deeply planted?

If the grafts were not properly implanted you may have issues with scarring and growth. If you are concerned it is best to see your doctor for a recheck.

Hair grafts planted too deeply will appear to grow out of a hole where upon it looks like the skin appears to pull downwards around the shaft of the hair. just like a golf hole with a golf flag inserted in the hole. This may not be the most attractive way for a hair to appear. Sometimes this will self correct after 6-18 months.Other ways to correct it are to punch it out via FUE and replant it in a more natural way.  

Grafts that are planted too deep do not grow and often produce a foreign body reaction. These grafts may shed their growth centers with the graft.
