I prepaid 6 treatments of Skinpen+PRP however the plastic surgeon couldn't draw out my blood to spin for PRP for 2 treatments as he said my veins were very tiny and the veins moved. Does microneddling+PRP give better result than without PRP? Price is different by $250. Thanks
Answer: Micro-needle with PRP Thank you for your question! PRP it's a high concentration of platelet rich plasma protein deprived from whole blood. Blood is drawn from the patient and goes into a special tube that, once spun in a centrifuge, separates your natural growth factor from your red blood cells. Commonly called liquid gold as this growth factor is one of the best growth factors to put on the skin and there is no chance of rejection. When combined with Micro-Needling, it can bypass the skin barrier pushing the PRP in the the deeper levels of skin. This promotes faster healing and improved tone and texture. This is applied topically to the skin. I recommend seeing an expert.Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: PRP w/Skin Pen. In my practice we have seen more dramatic results with the use of PRP with the Skin Pen. We too charge a $250 upcharge for PRP per treatment. However, we also use Tensage Growth Factors with Skin Pen and get great results too. Not everyone can afford the PRP but if you paid for it you deserve to get it. Maybe they can do an extra treatment to make up for the 2 PRP treatments you did not receive.

Answer: Better technic? First of all it should be possible to draw blood and I don’t see why the procedure should be aborted? There are many different veins that could be used for blood draw and unless if you have platelet deficiency you should have enough platelets for PRP procedure. Second: with or without PRP? Definitely PRP would help and since it’s from your own body there is minimal chance of having allergic reactions to it (you can’t be allergic to yourself). Best regards

Answer: GF Hello there, There should be other options available to apply during and after microneedling. We use Biopelle growth factor during our microneedling treatments and have seen fanatastic results with this application. I would speak with your provider about other synthetic growth factor options. You may also want to switch providers to someone who can offer this to you. I also would recommend using medical-grade skincare post-treatment that is specifically for use following Skinpen. This will greatly increase your results and decrease your downtime. Hope this helps. Sarah RN BSN

Answer: Microneedling with PRP The efficacy of PRP is dependent upon each patient's age, health, and quality of platelets. However, in a healthy, relatively young individual, microneedling with PRP has shown to be superior to microneedling without PRP due to the decreased inflammation, improved healing time, and the high number of growth factors in PRP. The PRP can also be injected into fine lines and wrinkles after the microneedling to promote reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and stimulat collagen. Microneedling alone (without PRP) has also been shown to be clinically beneficial for reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and acne scarring, so if your physician is not able to access your veins, be assured that microneedling alone will be beneficial to your skin. I hope this helps! - Dr. Shelley
