There is a story about botched surgery for a thin woman (http://www.realself.com/review/smart-lipo-thin-surgery-sacramento) who says never to do lipo when your're only needing small contouring improvements. Do you agree that exercise and diet is a better path? Was her outcome the fault of the procedure or the doctor?.
Answer: Ideal liposuction candidate
Thin people are ideal candidates for liposuction if there are focal areas of fat bulges that don't go away with exercise and diet. However, I doubt someone has focal areas if they describe as many areas of having liposuction as in this case. Furthermore, there is mention of cellulite preoperatively and this is not a condition known to improve with liposuction. Cellulite may improve but it may worsen in appearance after liposuction or not change.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Liposuction in Fit Patients Hi, thank you for this excellent question. Liposuction is an excellent option for fit individuals with stubborn fatty bulges. However, these patients are often more challenging for the surgeon, because there is no margin for error. Liposuction, when performed on larger individuals, is more "forgiving" to the surgeon: if there is a contour abnormality, surrounding fat is more likely to hide it. In fit individuals, there is not much excess fat, and everything is visible. If you are a fit individual with isolated fatty bulges, you are likely a very good liposuction candidate. You should just ensure that your surgeon has experience with patients like you.

Answer: Skinny women do great with liposuction! Skinny women just need to get lipo done by a doc who does it under tum. local with the micro canulas since the fine tuning is best this way. Your doc can really sculpt the areas nicely with these tiny canulas where if your doc tried to do it with the larger canulas then it looks terrible.

Answer: Localized fat collections ideal. In reality, the ideal candidate for liposuction is someone who’s relatively thin but has localized areas of diet-resistant fat.Patients in this group have usually attempted diet and exercise without success.Under these circumstances, liposuction can provide excellent clinical results and is associated with high levels of patient satisfaction.Although I’m not familiar with the case that you are referring to, liposuction is generally thought to be an excellent procedure that yields good clinical results.Unfortunately, this procedure is often performed by practitioners who have questionable credentials.Under these circumstances, less-than-optimal results are occasionally seen. For this reason, it’s always important to check your surgeons credentials before proceeding with liposuction.

Answer: Liposuction is for contouring localized fat not overall fat reduction
Regardless of technique, whether laser lipo such as Smart Lipo, VASER, or other techniques, liposuction is for removal of localized areas of fat that are resistant to change with diet and exercise. If the fat goes away with diet and exercise then liposuction would be inappropriate, whether you are skinny or have a more average body. Judging from the pictures posted and the description, my guess is that the patient was expecting skin tightening which does not occur to a significant degree with lipo even with laser. I realize that there are studies showing measureable skin tightening but the degree of tightening is not what we would call "clinically significant."
