I haven’t had the procedure done yet, but I’m curious as to what the skincare rules are post op. Do I have to use a specific kind of cleanser? Can I use moisturizers? How long before I can exfoliate? Can anyone help me with this?
Answer: Skin care after rhinoplasty? hello thank you for your question and provided information as well..based on your question one of the main care is not to use peeling or aggressive chemicals the first 5 months post surgery, not to take sun until 6 months to not stain the skin, and most importantly to use during all that time high sunscreen protection.

Answer: Rhinoplasty skin care You will find that the skin after rhinoplasty may become more shiny or oily after surgery. You can continue to do the same skin care regimen you are used to and the skin normalizes after a year or more. Gentle daily treatments like washing with soap and water and applying moisturizers, creams, or sunblock will be fine once the splint is removed. More aggressive treatments such as exfoliation, blackhead removals, chemical peels etc should be done only after you are healed and without sensitivity or pain. This can take several weeks to months before you can do more aggressive skin care on your nose. Hope this helps! Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon IG: @drjohnsonlee

Answer: Skin care after rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. My best advice is to discuss this with your surgeon. There is some variation in recommendations amongst surgeons after rhinoplasty and some of it depends on the specifics of the procedure. In general, after rhinoplasty, patients wear a nasal splint for 1 week. Once the splint is removed, the face and nose can be gently washed with a gentle face wash. At 7-10 days, you can return to using your normal facial products with care to not rub the nose firmly. I would not do a firm exfoliation until about 4 weeks.

Answer: Skincare after a rhinoplasty The cast will be applied across the nose for one week, and there be visible bruising and swelling for two weeks. Any type of skincare products are normally using can be applied to the nasal skin afterwards. Exfoliation should Not be performed for at least a month.
