Recovery period - how long would I need to be away from work to avoid infection?

I'm considering a full incisional blepharoplasty to remove some sagging skin and fats from my eyelids. I'm concerned about the recovery period needed as my job is fairly physical (cat groomer, not exactly running around but definitely on my feet for 6-8 hours each day). The bigger risk is the risk of infection because I work with cats and I often end the day with lots of cat hair stuck IN my eyes, much less around my eyes. Is this going to be an issue for me? How long would I have to ask my work to excuse me for? I'm healthy, 28 years old, no other health complications.
