Seeking advice for (male) Asian blepharoplasty and revision - is surgery to lower the crease feasible? (Photos)
I underwent full-incisional Asian blepharoplasty with ptosis correction in May 2024. My primary goal was to address perceived eye-size asymmetry and achieve a more alert appearance. I was largely indifferent to having a double versus single eyelid; eye size and balance were my main concerns. I was advised that ptosis correction was necessary and required a full incision, so I proceeded with ptosis correction, double eyelid surgery, and limited fat removal. While I’m satisfied with my eye size post-op, I feel the double eyelid crease is overcorrected and does not suit my face. As a 28-year-old male, I would have preferred a subtler, more masculine result consistent with my ethnic features (I’m half Northern Chinese). I was hoping for a very subtle “inner double” similar to my father’s natural eyelids. Instead, the crease is consistently visible and appears high, wide, and somewhat feminized. Although my epicanthal folds were preserved, the height and curvature of the crease feel exaggerated for my face. And I am not sure if the ptosis correction held well. I’ve consulted my original surgeon in at six months and again at 1.5 years post-op, but he declined revision, stating the crease will lower naturally over time. I’m seeking professional opinions on whether revision surgery to lower the crease is feasible, appropriate timing, and whether surgical or non-surgical options may help achieve a more natural result.
