Why are people getting lumps from Vanquish?

There are some people that get nodules that are a bit painful and hard. The tend to be self limited and go away without any treatment. In our office, we treat with the Zimmer Z wave and they go away faster. It is the result of inflammation of the fat.

Vanquish treatments can result in "hot spots" during the treatment. Our patients can let us know if they have a hot spot so we can adjust the treatment wands slightly to help with the discomfort. Afterwards, these areas can be firm due to fat necrosis. As a surgeon, I've created areas of fat necrosis by making incisions to do operations. This firm area along a scar is referred to as a "healing ridge" and will disappear--like the lumps after Vanquish treatments--over several months. Be patient. Full healing of surgical injury is not complete for approximately one year, but patients tend to do the most healing within six weeks of surgery. In our office we also use Cellutone (the acoustic hammer) after our treatments if the patient desires it. This treatment promotes increased blood flow, lymphatic drainage and breakdown of fibrous tissue and fatty tissue.
