Can facelift increase the width of my mouth and lift up the upper lip too?

Orthognathic surgery may change the oral cavity sizeand this may show externally affecting the appearanceof the mouth and the face. A facelift is not designed to make changes to the mouth itself but it may improve the appearance by decreasing the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. A facelift would not shorten the distance from the base of the nose to the upper lip. This may be improve by fillers or by an upper lip lift.  An in person  consultation by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon is necessary to determine your best options. Best wishes

Without in person evaluation or series of good photos it is impossible to give meaningful advice. It looks that a combination of face/neck lift to treat facial sagging and lift of upper lip would help. There are procedures to correct size of the mouth without creating too much of the scars and corner of the mouth distortion. Thank you for your question. A facelift is performed to loose and aging skin on the facial areas and neck. It doesn't affect the lips. There are other procedures for the lips such as fat grafting and injectable fillers. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Aging process of the face involves much more than just loose skin.  To properly rejuvenate the face other aspects of facial aging need to be addressed as well.  In your particular case, as part of a facelift, the lip will need to be addressed as well. There are a few different techniques to address this.  Seek out an experienced and talented facelift specialist for an in person evaluation.  

A facelift is primarily done to address excess skin of the lower face and neck.  The procedure does not usually affect the appearance of the mouth or lips.  An examination of you would be helpful to determine if a facelift might be of benefit to you.  There are some simpler procedures that can be done to address the mouth and lips.  

Facial aging in general is going to create what looks like too much skin due to decrease in elasticity and loss of underlying volume (fat, soft tissue, thinning skin, loss of dermis, bone).  The upper lip in everybody will lengthen, and the lips become thinner and lose fullness. So the loss of your bone/teeth support has made your mouth look smaller and your upper lip longer.  Without the benefit of pictures, I can only speculate, but in general, a facelift does not make your mouth wider, nor will it shorten your upper lip.  A facelift will, however, pull back some of the excess skin of your cheeks, and make your mouth look less hidden in the extra skin you probably now have.  You could also do an upper lip lift, that will leave a scar just under your nose.  This would allow your upper teeth to "show" more, and also let more of your red lip be seen.
