Pain & swelling in 1 breast after sleeping on my side - is this a sign of capsular contracture?

Thank-you for your query. It is difficult to give an opinion without any pictures . Pain and swelling of the breast can be due to pressure and local trauma but you could also have a capsular contracture. Usually this can be felt as firmness of tissues and when of high grade, can even be visible and sometimes painful. It would be best if you could set up an appointment with your Plastic surgeon who can examine you and see what is going on and advice you accordingly. All the best!

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

It is not uncommon for changes to occur several weeks/months post breast augmentation. A capsular contraction usually starts as either pain or firmness on one or both breasts. It does not abate and reappear.

Usually capsule signs do not come and go, but come and stay. I would suggest going back to your surgeon and being examined.
