Will my FUT scar stretch by playing basketball?

Strenuous exercise that put tension on the scalp can always stretch the new incision creating a wider scar.However scar formation is also dependant on the individual (no matter how careful you they are).  You cannot control this variable.  The only variable you can control is being careful with your new incision.Scar is considered fully healed after 6 to 12 months. 

We advise all patient to refrain from physical activity for 4 weeks post surgery, obviously the more physically demanding sports may require a little longer as there is a big difference between Golf & American Football or Rugby. However in this case you would probably be best waiting a little longer and potentially returning to Basketball at around 2 months (8 weeks) following surgery. This would be one of your main questions to ask your Surgeon at Consultation and again after the procedure or initial follow up appointment as your healing would have bearing on this.

The scar should not stretch from playing backetball. The causes of stretched scars are two: the surgeons technique and your healing tissues. Some people just stretch regardless of the surgical technique

usually after fut hair transplant , we suggest to stay off contact sports for about couple of months just to be sure. But regular sports after three weeks.
