Hello there,Typically the endodontist performs the root canal and places a temporary filling. After treatment is complete, you'll return to your dentist for the crown. Depending on the dental office, the crown procedure will take 1-2 appointments. If your dentist places a temporary crown then you'll return about a week later for your permanent crown. Good luck and I hope this helps. Follow me if you have more questions.Sarah Thompson, DMDSt. Louis, MO area (O'Fallon, IL)Real Self 100
Thank you for your inquiry. An endodontist typically will only treat a root canal and place a temporary filling. We hope this helps and we wish you all the best!

Your dentist is in the best position to determine if a crown lengthening procedure would allow long term success with a crown. Otherwise, you can have a nice crown that would fail shortly. X-ray will not show that. Besides, x-ray will not show if a short implant can be placed without sinus ...
