Hello, I have a brand new crown that replaces a previous one that broke. Apart from feeling too high and too big, I have noticed it has a dark spot in the middle of it and I wonder what it is. Could that be the pivot tooth? No amount of brushing makes it go away. Thank you

Hello there,It sounds like your temporary crown needs to be adjusted. This is not uncommon and would only take 5-10 minutes in the dental chair. Contact your dentist about this, and be sure to tell him/her about any discomfort that you may be experiencing. Good luck and I hope this helps. F...
Several things can make it important to extract a crowned tooth. These include root fracture, extensive root decay, or advanced periodontal disease. All these conditions will not show by just looking on the tooth. I suggest that you further discuss the issue with your dentist. Good luck
It is hard to give a reason without a full clinical picture and x-rays. It could be a crown margin that is open or overhang, decay, or a deep pocket. This odor is usually caused by a hidden area that is not reachable with cleaning.
