I just silicone breast implants 2.5 weeks ago and was wondering if there were any kind of massaging I can do to increase cleavage? I have more space between my breasts then I desire.
I went with 360 cc's 110 to have a more fuller natural look. Is there anything I can do to improve this or is there anything I should NOT be doing that would make this worse? Thanks.
Answer: Massage will help It is very useful to massage the implants after surgery. I recommend to my patients immediate massage which involves pushing the implants towards the middle several times per day. It also helps to lay directly on the implants (on your stomach) for five minutes every day. This helps keep the capsule open. The goal is to have a capsule that is slightly larger than your implants which will help you achieve a more natural look. Good luck with your recovery.

Answer: Massaging of breast implants and muscle activity There are several issues to be addressed here. Foremost among these is the location of the implants. If under the muscle, the muscle has a tendency to increase the space between the implants. Therefore during surgery, many surgeons will release the muscle along the inner part of the breasts. Performing excercises or massaging the implants towards the inner aspects of the chest (creating cleavage) will maintain the correction achieved during surgery but it generally will not increase it. Over time, we advise patients with "unders" to avoid pectoralis strengthening excercises such as wide grip bench press, butterflies, or wide stance pushups. These may cause the muscles to push the implants to the outside of your chest. Of course, I would only proceed with the consent of your surgeon who knows what was done during the procedure.

Answer: It depends The answer depends a lot on whether the implants are under the muscle; since most are done that way, I will assume that is the case. The muscle attaches along the edge of the sternum (breast bone) so that is a barrier preventing the implants from moving closer together. On the other hand, this also tends to push the implants farther apart as you begin to use the muscle more, so massaging them towards the middle might help them from settling farther apart. It also depends of course on the diamter of the implants and other variables. In any cae you should coordinate this with your surgeon.

Answer: Cleavage and implants Cleavage is limited by two things. FIrst, your anatomy. If you did not have alot of cleavage to begin with and your pec muscles are fairly wide apart, them you probably will not get alot of cleavage. It also depends upon the implant you choose. Wider implants may give you a bit more cleavage.

Answer: Hollywood secrets for cleavage Hello, About 2 years ago, there was an online article about Hollywood secrets for everything from cleavage to cellulite. The answer to cleavage was...TAPE! In all seriousness, there is truth to the above statement. The diameter of the implants determines some of what we consider cleavage, but (especially for under the muscle implants) you can not bring the implants any closer to the middle than the width of the breast bone. That bone varies in width and shape and there is nothing the surgeon can do to affect that. The implants also need to be centered with the position of the nipple/areola in mind. Bringing the implants too far centrally, can force the nipple to face outwardly and that is not aesthetically desired. You should certainly follow your surgeon's advice about massage and you can try to push them together temporarily in a push up bra for special occasions, but I am sure Hollywood ladies look like everyone else when you take away their special "secrets."
