I'm getting my BA the 23rd of this month. I'm 18, 5'8" 135lbs. I workout and have a fit body. My current size is 34A. I originally planned on getting 500cc mod profile silicone under the muscle. After meeting my surgeon he said 400cc would be better. I'm very anxious right now of not being happy with my choice of going smaller and scared I'll regret not going for 500cc. I want a full bust, large c or d. Will I have a large bust with this size?
Answer: Which size for me? Hello krose2015. There's no way to make a real recommendation with online exposure only. You need a thorough physical examination for a recommendation on size and shape be done. I find this method for sizing works the best in my practice:1) Guiding patients to explore reasonable options for breast implant size, usually two to three similar sizes, which allows the patient to visualize how different volumes affect their breast cup. 2) The best guide for a final breast implant size recommendation is derived using measurements from the patient’s own breasts and chest. 3) When measurements are considered then options for sizes can be presented. 4) I use the Mentor Volume Sizing System of breast sizers to demonstrate how these different volumes will look on a patient’s body. 5) This methods offers good reliability and is simple to use, but is not perfect. The ultimate decision can only be made by you and your plastic surgeon. When patients feel unsure about a size and shape, we ask them back to the office to try sizing until they're very confident with the choice they're making. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Answer: 400 or 500? Thank you for your question. There is no set volume that makes you a C or D cup. I believe it is important to use an implant that fits your chest dimensionally well. That being said the 400-500 moderate profile implants are very wide implants that don't have a lot of projection. I would double check on the profile of the implant that is going to be utilized. The most common thing you hear from women post BA surgery is " I wish I went a little bigger". I would discuss your concerns with your PS. Best of luck

Answer: 400 cc silicone implants in 34A breast. What size will I be? Thank you for the question. There is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging) will be critical. Given your concerns, best to discuss your goals, expectations, concerns, and questions directly with your plastic surgeon, preferably prior to the day of surgery. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers. I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Implant choice Sometimes volumes that patients request are inappropriate for the body habits, and basically may not fit or may cause problems. Best to discuss with your surgeon.

Answer: Breast implant sizing: 1 cup size =approximately 200 cc The other physicians are absolutely correct. No one can guarantee you a specific cup size after surgery. Why not? Bra manufacturers are highly inconsistent. A Playtex B is frequently a Victoria's Secret C---and that's part of the reason that Victoria's Secret is so successful. A women who wears a 34 C may also wear a 32 D...or a 36 B. Yes, I agree; it doesn't make any sense. But this is selling bras, not science. As a general rule (and a very rough one, at best), one cup size equals approximately 200 cc. So if you're wearing a 34 A, a 400 cc implant will probably bring you up to about a 34 C (or D in Victoria's Secret). A 500 cc implant will probably bring you up to a small D (or a DD in Victoria's Secret).
