i'm getting 4 caps put on my front teeth ... is shade A1 going to be noticeably white?
Answer: Color Matching For Front Crowns
By today's standards the shade A-1 is no longer considered very white. There are much lighter shades today that can still be made to look natural. In your case you are only doing four crowns so it is crucial to match them to the color of your canines. With digital cameras and outstanding laboratories, your crowns should match your existing teeth perfectly when you smile. Good luck.

Answer: Is Shade A1 Going to Be Noticeably White? JoAnne, hello and thank you for your question.A1 shade is a great shade on the whiter side of the scale, but without knowing the shade of your natural teeth, it is hard to know if it will look unnatural. In case if you are planning to whiten your teeth, consider doing it first, as porcelain does NOT change color. I always advise patients in my office to consider placing porcelain (veneers or crowns, depending on a situation) on more then 4 front teeth (usually 8 or 10) in case they want teeth to be even whiter then whitening procedure provided.Good luck to you!

Answer: A-1 Shade
A-1 shade is a white shade, however before placing it the doctor should have a shade guide that you can look at. You want to make sure it matches the the rest of your teeth. It may even look dark in comparisson to the rest of your teeth if you have had any bleeching done.

Answer: Color of Crowns
A1 shade is a shade at the top end of the international shade guide for tooth colors. A1 used to be considered a very white shade but with all the bleaching shades now, there are even whiter shades yet. If you plan to whiten your teeth, the teeth may actually bleach whiter than an A1 and then your crowns might look yellow compared to the rest of your teeth. B1 is actually a little bit lighter than A1. If you plan to bleach, then I would bleach and let your color settle for a couple of weeks. Then have your dentist take an exact shade match to your teeth. You may need to bleach periodically to maintain the exact color of your natural teeth. Porcelain never bleaches so it must be matched carefully to your natural teeth. Good luck!

Answer: Selecting shade A-1 for front teeth
Shade A-1 is nice white shade, but more important question here should be that if your other front teeth are close to shade A-1? If you like shade A-1, you should whiten rest of the teeth first to try to get them to A-1. Your new crowns made in shade A-1 will blend in beautifully after teeth whitening and will not be noticeable.
Hope this makes sense. Good Luck!
