Severe genital shaving scars possible treatment? (Photo)

Question

When I was a child and naive I shaved and it curated bad cysts that I tried cutting out with a blade. It left awful scarring, and hypopigmentation that is impossible to get rid of. Now I'm 21, and I'm embarrassed to ever get intimate with someone without having my mons pubis covered by hair out of fear of getting judged. I feel shame. When my legs are spread it doesn't look too bad as the scarring smooths out, but otherwise there's a dent and It looks scooped due to the skin being compromised.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

Hello,
There are many non-surgical treatment options that could potentially help with your scar. Problem is there isn't one that is a silver bullet and will work every time. You can try chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, or microneedling with PRP/Exosomes to help reduce the visible appearance. Regarding the 'dent' or 'divot' that you have, you can ask about dermal filler. We have had great success using dermal filler in acne divots that help to reduce their appearance. For an area that small you can probably use a half syringe of filler multiple times, the cost would probably be in the $400 range. Results should last upwards of a year.
Your scar does not look like a good candidate for surgical intervention though it is something another plastic surgeon may disagree with. They could cut out the scar but you would be left with a longer scar than what you have currently, it would just appear cleaner and neater. Cost for something like that is going to be in the $1500 range.
