The presence of fluid around the implant (blood, seroma, infection ) increase the formation of the "biocapsulae" with low activity microorganisms that may produce capsular contracture. If you develope a CC the ideal treatment is an open capsulectomy to change the plane of the implants and replace them with new ones.
Your question mentions both seroma and infection. If you have both of these, then certainly the incidence of capsular contracture increases. Stay in close follow-up with your doctor.
I have found that capsules result from problems that occur after breast augmentation. Unfortunately, this is the reality of doing breast surgery. Is it for certain? No...but I think if you are having trouble you need to get back in and see your surgeon ASAP!
Not necessarily but it may. Unfortunately, the exact cause of capsular contracture can be difficult to determine. The most important thing though, at this stage, is to remain in contact with your plastic surgeon and make sure that he infection has fully resolved and that it can become a situation that, if necessary, is amenable to correction, even if another surgical procedure may be required (which can be the case).Sorry for the problems, obviously.Dr. E

This is a good question because obviously not all of the patients who have them are having issues and they also made saline implants, if it was my patient or family member I would recommend removal for piece of mind or at least an MRI to check if they were intact or not
Thank you for the question and pictures. There are pros and cons to the placement of breast implants and the “sub muscular” position versus the "sub glandular position”. I will try to outline some of the differences here; you may find the attached link helpful as well. I think...
It's difficult to say without an exam or photos but generally speaking 150-200cc is about a cup size. It would be best to see a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation and exam to determine what implant would be the best for you. You could also try them on at that time,...
