No butt crack. Can he get a procedure to reconstruct a butt crack?

My husband got jeep driver syndrome when he was a teen that never would heel so a dr twisted his butt and added some plastic leaving him having no butt crack. He looks like teletubby. He has to shower after a bowl movement because his stool gets under the fake skin. I'm afraid he will have problems when he gets to be old. Can he get a procedure to reconstruct a butt crack?

I have had the pleasure, in both my general surgery training days as well as my 18 years as a plastic surgeon, reconstructing buttock abnormalities secondary to trauma, surgery, or congenital (birth) defects. Without seeing photos of your husbands anatomic problem, it sounds as though he could most benefit from a functional standpoint in addition to any cosmetic benefits - in other words, it would be nice if he did not have to shower after every bowel  movement.  An in person consultation is the next most important step to determine what surgical procedure is possible and most beneficial to him. Glad to help.

There are many conditions that cause chronic problems and aggravation of the gluteal crease. Some of these require reconstruction that change how the tissues are aligned. Your best bet is to have your husband talk to an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who has ample experience with reconstructive surgery.
