I'm 62 I've been cross dressing for years now Would like to take a step further and have breast implants and work on my nose is it safe at my age

At age 62 there is not a contra-indication to cosmetic surgery. If you have any medical issues you will need to be medically cleared. Often times they will want a cardiac clearance, EKG and chest x-ray.

Thank you for your question.  As a 65-year-old plastic surgeon who has been in practice for over 30 years, I routinely perform breast augmentation surgery in rhinoplasties on men and women well into their late 70s.  If you are healthy, you should have no issues.  Enjoy your fourth quarter.

Age is just a number. It can be an indicator of overall health but the number alone says very little.

The optimal candidate for surgery is, regardless of age, healthy. Patients should be free of major health issues and should have reached a healthy stable weight. There is a negligible difference between a healthy 40 year old and a healthy 50 year old.

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
