I received these wax ups and am just wondering if the teeth look proportional to each other. I am looking for a natural smile that is "perfectly-imperfect". I have fairly large gaps to fill around both lateral incisors.
Answer: Wax-ups for veneers To be honest, you shouldn't be critiquing your own wax-up. That would be the equivalent of me going to the hair salon and the stylist asking me which colors to use to color my hair. I would not be the expert in that situation so I wouldn't be able to give a good answer. However, since you do have the wax up, are you okay with how the teeth look?I don't know what your natural teeth look like underneath, but based on this wax up, it looks like you would benefit from having some gingival contouring to create symmetry (your left central incisor goes up higher than your right central incisor). Your canines are tucked in too much, they need to be brought out to broaden your smile. I would recommend you have 8 veneers placed for a better transition--it would really complete your look. The lateral incisors are not shaped the same, and I think they should be a little longer than they are (you will have the option to shorten them if you want after placement). I hope this helps you.

Answer: Symmetry and axial inclination This wax up is ok. Hard to really judge without looking at the "pre-op" model. I think the axial inclinations of the teeth are wrong, especially the canines (slanting too much). You really need to have gingival contouring to create gingival symmetry first. The front teeth are slightly too wide IMO. I would also consider adding another tooth. Doing 6 teeth is VERY difficult to make look natural because you're stopping the new smile on a transitional tooth (canines) from front of mouth to back of your mouth. I would either do 8 teeth or 4 teeth but not 6.

Answer: Veneers my advice is - not to ask others , you decide, r u oky with this or not? , if u want any changes at this stage , it is possible. u take yr own decision.for eg. if u have proclined anteriors in that case its oky, but if u have perfect set of teeth in that case veneers are thick. just tell dentist to improve symmetry in left and right.

Answer: Teeth My big question is why a patient has a wax-up. What are you supposed to do with it? Critique it? Approve or deny it? On what basis are you making your decisions? The doctor here is at fault for asking a pt for input at this level!

Answer: Diagnostic waxups I feel that there is room for improvement in this waxup. There is no symmetry between the right and left sides. They should be as close to mirror images as possible. The emergence profile out of the gum seems too thick, this will translate into a food trap in the permanent restorations. Tooth #9 seems longer than #8 and also bigger overall. The canines seem to be tipped in too much. I am not a fan of just doing 6 veneers because unless you are staying with the same color as your natural teeth they always look obvious. You might want to consider adding an additional tooth on each side to allow you more flexibility in choosing shades. They aren't mounted so it's difficult to determine if the front teeth need to be longer. Currently it appears that your back molars etc. are longer than the front teeth but this may just be the way the models are propped up. I hope this helps.
