Recently got composite but wanted porcelain. Composites look horrible. Will replacing with porcelain help?
Answer: Composite vs Porcelain Veneers There are huge differences in composite vs porcelain veneers, but the lab fees vary by region. I'll outline them below.Porcelain veneers are: highly stain resistant, very durable, can last you 20 years without breaking, you can select from several different shades, they function like real teeth, they are a permanent solution; more expensive.Composite veneers are: easily stained, not very strong, last days to possibly a few years (depending on where they are in the mouth), shade options are limited, don't really function with the strength of real teeth, are a temporary solution; much less expensive.Good luck and I hope this helps. Answer: Composite vs. Porcelain Veneers I highly recommend porcelain veneers over composite veneers. Although they are more expensive, they are worth the investment. Porcelain veneers are much stronger, more stain resistant, much more esthetically appealing, and can last years without fracturing. Composite restorations, I believe, will end up costing longer in the long run because after a short period of time they loose their sheen and they look unnatural. They stain easily, and are not esthetically appealing. They can also break much more easily. Most people tend to replace their composite restoration more often than the porcelain restoration. With this said, I recommend you see a dentist very experienced in cosmetics prior to any treatment.

Answer: Lab fees The lab fee for porcelain veneers can vary widely. Replacing your current veneers with porcelain veneers may help improve your smile. Your dentist will need to use a lab that can produce a high quality restoration, not a cut rate one. The most important thing is you want these restorations done correctly so that they will last a long time.

Answer: Composite vs porc veneers Porcelain veneers are far superior to composite veneers. As far as lab fees it totally depends on the laboratory used. What the dentist pays for the lab fee should not be what you use as a guide for your fee. His esperience, expertise , and time are what you are paying for.
