You have problems.  Visit your implant Doctor first to discuss why you have pain. Then see a periodontist for a second opinion.

As in life there is no shortcut to happiness.  You need orthodontics, plain and simple.  Find an Inviisilign doctor and just do it. You won't be sorry.

Are Porcelain Veneers for me? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Based on the photos it looks like you could use some veneers. Spacing seems ok but use the judgement of your doc whether you need a few teeth moved into position. You may need 10 instead of 8 because your smile is quite large. Not a bad thing!

Let's assume your teeth are as straight and aligned as possible.  Your misalignment of upper jaw and lower jaw is because your temporomandibular joints are not stable, and they are unequal in size and/or position; it's your lower jaw that's off, not your teeth.  This is probably why you had jaw surgery but you really needed joint surgery.  Nobody paid attention to that, though.
Veneers on the front top and bottom 10 teeth may be able to compensate by manipulating the midline to match each other.  I'd be very worried about jaw function and bite though.

I sense two different problems. The first is that the idea of a standard amount reduction is specious.  Reduction is based on many different factors. So there is no standard.  If your teeth ached with temps then the problem should have been diagnosed at that time.
The second problem is your jaw pain.  I'm going to paint a scenario for you and please tell me if I'm not far from wrong.  The reason you wanted veneers was because your front teeth became short and chipped on the edges.  If H'm dead wrong then ignore the rest...if I'm right, then you have s temporomandibular joint problem that caused your bite to change over the years, thereby wearing away front teeth.  Having new veneers now keeps your lower jaw from moving the way it did before and thereby causes your muscles to be in chronic spasm.
There's more to the story than I want to type so if you wish to discuss it please get a hold of me through this site.

The temps are way wrong--too square with uneven gingival recontouring.  The lateral incisors & canines are not in proportion to the centrals.  You're going to need more than 2 front teeth to make this right--all 8 front teeth need to be changed.
Find a competent doctor who can do this.

Again, an X-ray will help, but wait a minute!! How about crown lengthening by your neighborhood periodontist of which there are several around Seaside.  That way, with an endo & crown you get to keep the tooth for at least several years!

If the rotated canine annoys you then by all means have a little ortho to put it right.  Otherwise I'm thinking that if the root of the canine is not an issue then an implant in the lateral incisor area would be ok.

Yes, I agree with you--they're way too bulky and rounded.  The teeth shPes are not appropriate either.  I suggest you talk to the doctor who placed them if it's within the last 6 months.  Tell him your concerns. If he doesn't see the light or refuses to redo them then you may need a new doctor.

Go see an endodontist who will retreat or perform an apicoectomy. This looks eminently reparable!!!!
