Interested in breast augmentation and trying to determine if I can get by without a lift, any suggestions? (Photos)

Breast implants are sized according to their volume in cubic centimeters (cc).
you will need with lifting.
How do you know what size implant to choose? Looking at pictures and talking to friends who had a breast augmentation might help.

Off course the volume will depend on the shape and size of your actual breasts, your frame and the size you want to achieve.

Our plastic surgeon will advise you thoroughly. Bringing pictures of a desired restult to be shown to our surgeon, might be very helpful.

This is a hard question to answer over the internet. Looking at your photos the answer is maybe. Personally I don’t like breast lifts on most breasts unless the nipple is pointing down. Just a slightly low nipple might not be worth the scars to raise it up. I hope that helps.

I would recommend a donut mastopexy with submuscular saline or silicone implants, depending on your preference. We would determine the exact size and profile when I measure your chest, we review photos together, and you have an opportunity to try on the implant sizers here in the office. The extra bumps around your nipple can be removed during the same surgery!

You appear to be a good candidate for breast augmentation but it is difficult to determine about the need for breast lift (possibly donut) with limited photos. Implant size discussion and implant selection is one of the most important steps during your consultation with plastic surgeon. The decision-making process depends on your desires, as well as breast and soft tissue dimensions of your chest wall. I also utilize Vectra 3D planning to further help with implant selection.
I would seek an in-person evaluation by the plastic surgeon, in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results.

From the limited photo uploaded, it seems like you can benefit from a breast lift and augmentation with implants to provide the volume you desire. A board certified plastic surgeon will be able to guide you to the correct size implant for your measurements and desires. Measurements of the chest wall and breast imprint width as well as knowledge of all breast implant sizes and profiles should make this process easy. Try on a profile bra with various saline and silicone cc sizers your PS recommends under a tailored blouse, tank top, bikini, workout clothes, and other garments you typically wear so that you have the best idea of whether the garments fit as desired with the implant selected.

Your photographs are very limited so it is very hard to recommend. However, if you do need a lift the technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, small implants or fat transfers can be placed.

You have involutional changes in your breasts and pseudoptosis meaning that an augmentation alone without a lift would give you a very nice result.

Thank you for your question and photos. You will see several responses from different colleagues and this means that there is not one and only one option. In skilled hands you ought to be able to get a magnificent result with an augmentation only, and with an augmentation/mastopexy. If you are certain you would like to avoid a lift, based on your photos it appears you would do well with a dual plane augmentation without the need to a lift. An examination in person is required to be definitive.

Do your research, and make sure that your plastic surgeon's aesthetics seems to align with your own, based on his or her Before and After gallery. Be open to the possibility that more than one opinion might be in your best interest before scheduling. Best of luck to you.

determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.

Your breasts are a little deflated from kids but your nipples are still above your breast fold. I think you would do well with a dual plane augmentation to lower your breast fold and give you a nice result. Good luck.
