In a BA without any issues other then pockets too wide (implants fall onto sides when lying on back) what options are there for fixing this?? What is the popcorn method and what kind of scarring does that involve externally? Size, feel, and all else is great so don't want them removed and replaced, just want the pocket tightened on the outsides under the arms. Thank you!

Answer: Popcorn method for breast implant revision. Hi, Thanks for posting your question. I am happy to try and help you. It is important to remember that a board certified plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, and concerns. Having said that, I have not ever heard of that method? The way to manage too large a breast implant pocket is to sew it closed with internal stitches. They are called capsulorrhaphy stitches. I hope you found this helpful. As always, ask your PS first about any questions. Have a great day.

Answer: Correction of implant malposition The capsule is the tissue or scar that has formed around your implant. If the implant falls too far to the side on laying down, you may benefit from tightening of the castle. The "popcorn" method involves using the electro cautery device used in surgery to touch the inside of the capsule causing it to variably shrink. It is not likely this will close off the lateral pocket and may require suturing the pocket closed (capsulorrhaphy). Talk with your board certified plastic surgeon about your options and what to expect.i hope this helpsDr. Edwards
