Most commonly buttock implants show because of either 1) the implants were placed on top of the muscle or “subfascial”, 2) the implant size is simply way too large, and/or 3) the implant shape is not anatomically suited - typically round implants are a problem. In all cases, revision surgery is necessary to create a more natural buttock contour. Glad to help.
Butt implants can be visible for a number of reasons. The most common reason is if the implants are placed above the muscle. In this situation there is only skin and subcutaneous fat to cover the implant so it is much more likely that the edge of the implant can be seen. Another reason is if the implants are too big for your body. Implant selection is a careful process that needs to take into account your measurements and tissue availability. Capsular contracture can make implants feel hard, can shift the position of the implants making them more visible and can also cause pain. I recommend close follow-up with your surgeon to determine the cause of your implant visibility.
This is not an ideal buttock implant result and can be revised for a more natural look. The right surgeon will listen to your concerns and go over your options. Be sure to choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in this procedure and is well known in the community for it.

If you have already had buttock implants, it is best to follow the recommendations of your surgeon. Otherwise, this is generally what i advise my patients: The first 2 weeks is the most challenging with swelling, tightness, and discomfort. Also sitting is prohibited for these 2 weeks. Patients ...
Dear Indiana girl, Thanks for posting your picture. Since you are still in discomfort at 3 weeks after surgery, I assume that your implants were placed in the intra muscular plane, because the other technique , sub fascia (the one I use) heals much faster. My patients are able to sit imme...
Although infrequent, this indeed is a potential problem after BBL. I have seen over a dozen patients with this similar issue and each time it has been significantly improved with a buttock implant. Do not waste more time and money on another BBL. Glad to be of help.
