I treat each patient differently with Sculptra, so I don't necessarily use any particular formula to determine how much or how many treatments a patient may need. After examining the patient, I can usually determine a rough estimate for how many vials might be needed per treatment session and how many treatment sessions might be needed. If there is a great deal of fat loss, then more vials and treatment sessions are going to be needed than in someone with less fat loss.
Guidelines are simply that- guidelines. Each person should be evaluated based on their individual needs and goals. The one vial for every ten years just helps give patients an idea of what they may expect from a recommendation standpoint during a consultation.
Hi Sasha! That's a great question. The amount needed varies and I often start low and slow, and add more as needed over repeated sessions to get the proper volume. In the temples, for example, I may start with 1-2 vials per side. Then, have the patient return after several weeks for re-evaluation with more being added after the inflammation has subsided. I don't believe there's a hard-and-fast rule regarding 1 vial per decade of age. Hope this is useful to you!
There is absolutely no such thing as a formula for using Sculptra. Every individual ages differently. People do lose volume in their face as they get older. But some people lose more weight and others do not, so the amount of filler necessary is different. At our organic plastic surgery center we prefer to use the patients own fat to make patients look younger. The results of fat grafting are natural and permanent and make the person look just like they used to some 20 or 30 years before any type of surgery. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery
Hello and thank you for your question! Once you have achieved your desired correction it is best to schedule a follow up in 6 months to a year to review photos and see if any additional vials will be needed. There will be continued volume loss as you age so the amount needed every year may vary....
Hi J, Sculptra is very safe for the inner thighs. Unfortunately liposuction of the body can leave lumpy bumpy surface, though one looks better in clothes, not so without clothes on. Sculptra acts to biologically stimulate volume while Kybella destroys fat cells decreasing volume. I would...
Good Afternoon! Nodules can definitely be a problem with Sculptra. If you haven't tried steroid injections and massaging, that may be an option. It also depends on how long it's been. Some nodules will resolve but may take well past a year. A last resort is excision of the nodule if all else has...
