Sculptra and Radiesse can be used safely and effectively at the same time. It is important to understand that Sculptra is designed to be a gradual volumizer and the results take at least 4 weeks to take effect, usually necessitating multiple treatment sessions.
Combining filler can be (and is frequently) done, since they are usually placed at different levels. Sculptra is typically injected deep, right above or along the bone. Restylane is typically injected in the deep dermis or superficial fat. It really depends on the patient and physician if they want to do it at the same session or separately.
In the hands of an experienced, artistic surgeon, all can be done at the same time. Remember though, that Sculptra may take months for the final result. I prefer to use Sculprta for global volume improvement and Restylane or Radiesse for focal lines or precise contouring.
Sculptra and Radiesse could be used simultaneously but I would reccommend against it. Keep things simple and avoid and confusion if there are problems.
For exact augmentation of the cheeks I prefer Radiesse because results are seen immediately. Sculptra works well, but multiple injections are necessary and improvement is gradual. I do not use Restylane for cheek augmentation because it does not last as long as the other products.
I have performed many Cheek Augmentations with fillers (Radiesse, Perlane and Sculptra) as well as with Cheek Implants. Technically any of these fillers can be mixed if delivered in different tissue layers however, since Sculptra is suspended in a large amount of sterile water compared to the degree of active crystals, I'd think about having the Sculptra first. Wait about 6 weeks, to see the results of the Sculptra and then use another filler if you want additional augmentation. Hope this helps.
I have quite successfully used Radiesse and Sculptra treatments for different areas of the face in the same patient but I don't recommend injecting them simultaneously. I usually recommend injecting Radiesse first for the "instant" results which can then be followed by a series of Sculptra treatments at a future date to give longer-lasting results. I feel they each have certain advantages, when properly used, to fix volume loss in different areas of the face. Radiesse is gel-based and works best for cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and the jaw line. Sculptra is water-based so it is easier to place more diffusely underneath the skin. Sculptra also works well in the cheeks and especially the temples. It is my preferred treatment for fine lines due to volume loss throughout the lower face. Hyaluronic acid gels like Juvederm or Restylane are injected more superficially than either Sculptra or Radiesse so they can be used at the same time, if appropriate.
With the passage of time, and at varying rates among different individuals, there can be a separation between the fat that covers the actual area overlying the cheekbone and the fat that gravitationally slips downward and inward toward the nose. At first, this separation, called the malar...
Yes, Sculptra can be used to further augment and enhance the appearance of cheeks if the cheek implants did not fully correct the volume loss or if over time further volume loss has occurred.
Hi Angela,Voluma was recently FDA approved in the US for Cheek augmentation. Although the main benefit of the Voluma is it's Lifting power, because it tends to stick to itself, it is particularly good for placing on top of the cheek bone similar to your malar augmentation AKA cheek...
