Post SculpSure: Is it normal for nodules to occur on one side more than another and still get even results?

I got Sculpsure on my upper and lower abs 2 days ago. Since the procedure, ive noticed tender nodules come up on my right side a lot more than the left. Particularly with the lower abdomen, which has almost no nodules forming on the left side. Im concerned about uneven results. Is it normal for nodules to occur on one side more than another and still get even results?

Thank you for your question. Your recovery does seem normal at this point, however, I suggest that you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon. You can massage your treated areas as some patients have nodes / knots that will subside.

Although nodules can form following a SculpSure treatment, they are variable in their size and location within the treated areas and are effectively treated with continued gentle but diligent massage to reduce and help resolve them.

Fat nodules after Sculpsure are common and a normal part of the procedure. These develop as the body begins to break down and eliminate the fat tissue. They can occur anywhere in the treated area and are not necessarily symmetrical.

As a high volume Sculpsure center, we occasionally see small nodules than can form after Sculpsure. This is part of the process of your body absorbing the fat cells. Continue to massage and hydrate and most of these typically disappear within a few weeks. If not, a small amount of radio-frequency energy can be successful at breaking them up.

It is common to develop nodules after a SculpSure treatment because of the death of the fat cells.  You should massage the area that was treated on a regular basis until your next treatment in 12 weeks.  Please make sure you are staying well hydrated to help with the body process the dead fat cells.  As long as the treatment was applied evenly you should be fine.

Thank you for your question. Although most people do not experience nodules, it is not uncommon to feel some following a SculpSure treatment. The body is going through the process of evacuating the destroyed fat cells, this can cause the irregularities. We recommend to our patients that they massage the areas to speed up the smoothing process. You can expect to see your final results about 12 weeks post treatment.

Nodules are not uncommon after a SculpSure treatment and represent area of fat cell death.  It will take months for the results to be noticiable and for the nodules to resolve, be patient and massage the nodules.  Asymmetry shouldn't be a problem.

It is not uncommon for any post-Sculpsure nodules to appear unevenly (when they do appear). As long as the SculpSure paddles were placed evenly on your body during the treatment, you shouldn't worry about your results from the procedure being uneven. Continue to massage your nodules to help them resolve and you should also continue to massage the whole area treated as directed by your provider. Keep in mind that it typically takes more than one treatment to see optimal results with SculpSure. Good luck as you continue on your SculpSure journey!

Thank you for your question. I wouldn't worry about uneven results as SculpSure pads are placed in a manner that would treat the area evenly. However, our bodies don't always heal symmetrically. It is not uncommon for nodules to appear on just one side of the treatment area. Evaluate your results by looking at before / after photos at least 6 weeks after your last treatment.
