Can SculpSure cause lipomas, or even activate/enlarge lipocasoma areas, that were previously undetectable?

A lump the size of a marble appeared in my left hip, after 2 SulpSure treatments followed by a Venus legacy treatment. It is hard and round. Then, on my right hip is one that is between the size of a marble and a golf ball, maybe an inch in size. they appeared suddenly, and they hurt, and I am afraid is I massage them and it is cancerous, that I could spread the cancer by doing so.

Sculpsure destroys fat cells and as a result, lumps can occur following a treatment. This device does not cause liposarcomas or benign lipomas. Gentle massage of these lumps will help these lumps resolve. In some cases, it can take a few months for them to resolve.

Those lumps you feel are fat nodules, caused by the disruption of the fat cells. They are normal, occurrng in just over half of people who are treated and they are absolutely not dangerous or cancerous. They should go away over one to two weeks and you should massage them. We recommend for everyone to massage the treated areas for about 5 minutes two times a day. You should contact your provider wtih your concerns. Good luck!

Lipomas are benign tumors (growths) consisting of fat cells, are very common and are not caused by SculpSure or any other body contouring device or surgery.  They can be left alone or if unsightly or painfull can be surgically removed.SculpSure uses a laser to target fat cells that are destroyed by the dissipated heat/energy.  The body forms an inflammatory response to remove the dead fat cells which can result in painfull lumps and bumps (indurations).  Don't worry, they will eventually resolve, in the meantime, massage them for 5-10 minutes a couple of times/day and apply either ice or heat, whichever helps relieve the discomfort.This is actually a good sign, it means that the SculpSure worked and the fat cells are destroyed!Good Luck!

They areas you describe are typically small granulomas from dying fat cells. They typically will resolve within a few weeks but I seen them rarely last several months. They often respond to some radio-frequency treatment. Re-visit the doctor who treated you and see if he can come to a resolution

Small lumps that appear after SculpSure are likely areas of dead fat called fat necrosis. These go away with time and massage can help.Lipomas are tumors of fat, are very common and are not cancerous.

you can get small areas of induration or swelling after a Sculpsure treatment. you can also get small areas of fat necrosis. All of these will go away with time and massage. Sculpsure will not cause a liposarcoma (this is one of the problems when people read everything they can find on the internet. they don't have the experience to interpret what they read). Also Sculpsure will not cause a lipoma to appear. You may just notice a lipoma after your treatment and it may have been there before but you just are paying much more attention to the area since you had it treated. it is a very, very safe procedure. david berman md

Yes, commonly reported and well known, they should decrease in size over the next 6 to 8 weeks. Now, if they are still persistent, see your specialist who performed the procedure, an ultrasound maybe required.
