Sharp pains at implant edge in lower breast, is this normal?

Two and a half weeks is still extremely early in the healing process. It sounds correct that if you have thin skin the implant is more palpable. My patients notice this as well. The pain you are having is likely just from you recent surgery and should dissipate with time. Stay in touch with your surgeon. It seems as though they are guiding you correctly.

Thanks so much for your question.  It is true that you have less coverage and a higher chance of feeling the implant at the area you describe.  That isn't a reason to have pain but pain at this point in time following your surgery isn't necessarily a reason for concern.  I would contact your plastic surgeon again and keep them in the loop on things.  Pain at this point will likely resolve spontaneously with time.

I never know what to call normal.  But pain at 2.5 weeks as you describe does not sound alarming, and nor is the fact that you can feel the edge of the implant. You can feel breast tissue through the breast skin, and you can feel the implant through the breast skin. Please do review these finding with your surgeon at your next visit. All the best. 

Implants can commonly be felt on the underside of the breast, as it is disguised by less tissue there and not covered by muscle. 2 1/2 weeks out from surgery is still fairly early, and any aches/pains/twinges can often be expected and don't necessarily mean anything bad is occurring. The implant "dropping" is not usually something that happens early on or at all once, and it's not often something you feel discreetly. You should continue to follow closely with your plastic surgeon if you notice the pain getting worse or any changes in appearance.
