Mommy Makeover and Cervical Spine Stenosis?

Question

I was recently was diagnosed with cervical spine stenosis in the c6/c7 area. I had sever pain and was in the hospital for a week in July. I was scheduled to have my mommy makeover o August 15. I changed it to September 28. I still have a little pain from the stenosis, but have gone back to normal life. I continue to take gabapentin to control the nerve issues. My question is, will i be able to get the mommy makeover in September even though I have cervical stenosis. I am a 43 year old woman.

Cervical Stenosis is a very serious condition which will not disappear but if you are in the correct BMI, and follow all instructions coming from your doctors, you will live a great life. 
The problem will be the mobility and immobility after surgery. So it will be mandatory to listen and follow the instructions from your doctor regarding the plastic surgery. 
I consider to wait at least 6 months from the last acute episode, also one surgery at a time will be the safest measure: only Tummy tuck procedure and 6 months later breast procedure.

The safest approach is to get evaluated by a spine surgeon first to determine if any intervention is needed for your cervical stenosis. Communication between your plastic surgeon and spine surgeon will also help determine the optimal treatment plan for you.

You need to discuss this first with the doctor who treated you. Anesthesia may need to bend your neck back to place the breathing tube properly inside.  It will only be about 2 months, so you may need to wait until 6 months for your neck. Your doctor can tell you what is best.

If your symptoms are well managed you should be able to proceed with your Mommy Makeover.  However it is always best to speak with your spinal surgeon and plastic surgeon about what is recommended for you.

Having spinal stenosis is not a country indication for having cosmetic surgery. The decision is really up to you. I suggest you discuss your medical history with your plastic surgeon to see what he or she has to say about your medical history, and your candidacy for the procedures.
If you are symptom-free then I see no reason why you couldn’t move forward with your scheduled procedure.
