Inner thigh/knee bulge – residual fat, loose skin or lipedema? How can I treat this? (Photos)
I would like to know what can be done about the bulging around my inner thighs and knees. I feel it makes my legs look strange and it significantly affects my confidence. I never feel comfortable wearing dresses or shorts. I eat very clean, don’t drink alcohol and exercise 4–5 times a week, including strength training. I’ve struggled with my weight throughout my life: I was overweight as a child, anorexic in my teens and yo-yoed throughout my 20s. I’ve also had two children. I finally have a healthy relationship with food and exercise and my weight is stable. I had 360° thigh liposuction two years ago and have not regained weight since. I think there may still be residual fat, especially around my inner thighs/knees, but I also have loose skin. I’d like to understand what would actually give me slimmer, more toned-looking legs. I strongly prefer nonsurgical options if anything could genuinely help, but I would appreciate honesty if surgery is necessary for a meaningful improvement. I’ve also wondered about lipedema. I don’t have all the symptoms, but I’ve had thick, column-like legs and prominent inner-knee fat pads my entire life. Based on my photos and history, does this look like residual fat, loose skin, possible lipedema, or a combination? What treatment would realistically give me slimmer, more defined legs?
