I had labiaplasty 18 months ago and I felt she took a lot off. I don’t know if that’s truly too much or just a big difference. However, I’m getting swelling of the labia majora daily, and when it’s not swollen it’s visibly deflated, and looks terrible. It swells if it’s touched. It doesn’t hurt at all. What could be the cause of this? My surgeon says she’s never seen it happen before but I found a few people online with the issue. What can I do to improve the swelling?

You should not lose sensation with Labiaplasty if done by a cosmetic gynecologist with expertise in this kind of surgery. You can do a perineoplasty at the same time to fix the perineal raphe.
There is risk to any surgery. Change in sensation may occur but typically it is temporary and improves as healing occurs. It can be permanent in rare cases. Selecting an experienced board certified plastic surgeon is important in getting the results you are wanting in the safest hands.
