I’m 5’1 petite build with A cup, almost B cup breast tissue. I’m having a breast augmentation in a few months. My surgeon has recommended 300cc over muscle Motiva implants, round, high profile. ( I’d love to be able to achieve a D cup with fuller breasts and more projection). He said that going larger than 300cc would be to large and make me look ‘overdone’ Will placing 300cc over the muscle allow me to achieve my desired goal? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
Answer: Implant size Dear Victoria39, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Implant selection Without photos or an examination it's difficult to recommend a specific implant. Many surgeons have sample implants available that patients can "try on" to get an idea of how they may appear after surgery. This may help you with your decision. Be sure to discuss the pros and cons of above the muscle versus under for implant placement. I've included a video on breast augmentation and implant selection that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Surgery You did not post photos, but at 5'1", 300 cc's should look good. I am not a fan of the textured implants because of long term risks. In ladies with little tissue, I prefer to place the implants behind the muscle for better upper breast fullness, more support to the implants, and to hide the implant edge which looks more natural.

Answer: Implant volume and cup size If you are size 32 or 34, each 100 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. If you are almost a B and place 300 cc implants, you will go to a size DD. I recommend a smaller size. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Achieving desired goal Hi and thank you for your question. Cup sizes are inherently subjective and vary even amon manufacturers. That being said, it is difficult to answer your question without photos and some measurements of your breast base width, etc. If your plastic surgeon is experienced in breast augmentation, they should be able to address your questions.
