Am I a candidate for liposuction post pregnancy? I’m 4 months post partum from an emergency c section and wanting liposuction on my lower stomach when I’m 6 months post partum. I’ve been for a consultation and was told my only option is a tummy tuck which just seems so extreme to me as I don’t have any loose skin or diastasis recti. It’s really disheartened me as I definitely do not want a tummy tuck but I did want liposuction to give me a boost of confidence since being pregnant
Answer: Candidate for liposuction post-pregnancy Thanks so much for your question, If your skin has good elasticity and isn’t sagging, lipo alone may work well without the need for skin removal and since you don’t have muscle separation, that’s a good sign that lipo could be effective. Not all surgeons have the same approach. A more experienced lipo specialist might be willing to do it if you’re a good candidate. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Liposuction Yes from the photos you appear to be a candidate for liposuction to help sculpt your curves. You mentioned you are going to wait until you are six months post partum which is the recommendation. If you are planning to have more children in the future a tummy tuck is not advised until after you've completed your family.

Answer: Thank you for your question! It is difficult to see just through the pictures, however, on the side picture, I can’t see a bit of separation of the muscles due to the pregnancy. It would be best to send additional footage to buyer see the condition of the skin if it’s more so on the loose side a tummy top would definitely be the surgery to benefit you more. Otherwise you can be left with irregularities however, if the skin has retracted mostly on its own perhaps liposuction with j plasma would suit you best!

Answer: Candidate for liposuction post-pregnan Hi. Based on your pictures, I am not sure why someone would try to push you hard towards an abdominoplasty or almost wonder why they would even be willing to do it based on what your anatomy appears to be. Obviously an in-person assessment is needed but I would imagine you are a good candidate for liposuction. It may be that you see somewhat subtle results depending on how much subcutaneous adiposity there is (which just refers to the fatty tissue between your skin and the underlying musculature). I would recommend getting in to see a board certified plastic surgeon with good experience with body contouring including liposuction and similar modalities to get another opinion. You might even consider some noninvasive options like Emsculpt or similar and have someone give you the pros and cons of those as well. Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell

Answer: In person evaluation needed You are not a candidate for a tummy tuck as you do not appear to have excess skin. It also appears that you have very little fat so I do not think liposuction will do much for you. You need to be evaluated in person to see how much fat you do have. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
