Some women develop a lot of facial and nasal swelling after they become pregnant and have a baby. Generally it is best to wait for all of your facial and nasal swelling to dissipate before considering rhinoplasty surgery. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
It's more about how long your breastfeeding period will be. While breastfeeding, you can take a break for just two days and have your surgery.
In terms of surgical risk, you will need to wait at least one month to ensure a low risk of venous thromboembolism. However, a primary rhinoplasty can be associated with an extended downtime, and may not be the best idea with a newborn. I would recommend waiting at least 6 months after a C section for a rhinoplasty just based on recovery logistics.
How soon after a C-section can you have a rhinoplasty? A lot depends on how much blood was lost during the C-section. In order to undergo an elective rhinoplasty we usually like to see a patient’s hemoglobin at about 11 or higher. If a significant amount of blood was lost during the C-section it may take several months to get back to a normal blood count. If the blood count is OK then 2 to 3 months to recover from the surgical trauma, the hormonal changes, and numerous other changes associated with surgery and childbearing should be sufficient in a young otherwise healthy person.
You can get it done once your condition is back to normal. You don't need to wait for few months or years!
