Swelling 2 years after rhinoplasty. Is this normal? Can anything be done?

Hello! Thank you for your question. The swelling and healing process is totally relevant with you skin type. If you had thick skin the swelling might be normal stage of healing. The salty food and alcohol keeps water in the body and cause edema. This can be the reason of the swelling. Your surgeon may give you the answers you looking for. If you can provide photos from front of your face, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. Many patients will note swelling under various circumstances for years after a rhinoplasty, although overall this is a rare complaint. Unfortunately in any kind of delayed edema the only true fix will be avoiding the triggers that cause the nose to swell in the first place. If there is excessive scar tissue, a steroid injection may help, but this can be tricky following rhinoplasty due to the interplay between the scar tissue and cartilage.

Tip swelling two years post rhinoplasty: in most cases, persistent tip fullness two years post rhinoplasty may be due to thick nasal tip skin and some scar tissue accumulation beneath it. In such cases some surgeons employ steroid injections to the tip and the area above the tip called the supratip to attain additional refinement and thinning in this area. Your surgeon will tell you if you have thick skin and scar tissue which might be amenable to such injections.
