Can I undergo rhinoplasty surgery with some Radiesse/filler scar tissue in my nose?

I had a non-surgical nose job with radiesse around 14 months ago. I'm now considering a surgical rhinoplasty. Can I still undergo surgery with some radiesse/filler scar tissue in my nose? Can the radiesse be surgically removed during the procedure? Alternatively, do I have to wait until all the filler has dissolved? If so, how will I know when my nose is able to undergo surgery?

Hello! Thank you for your question. From your question I can say you can do surgical rhinoplasty. Your surgeon will be dissolve all the filler and etc during surgery. If you can provide photos from front of your face, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. Yes you still can have rhinoplasty surgery. If the filler is dissolvable, it is better to dissolve it before surgery to make it easier for the surgeon to evaluate your nose and provide you with the expected outcome from the surgery. Otherwise, the filler material can be removed during the surgery.

It would not matter if you have rhinoplasty 1 year after filler injection. However, you should inform your surgeon about that and let him/her decide how to hendle it. Good luck.

Rhinoplasty can still be done after fillers have been used. Each case is different. In some cases filler may need to be removed while in others not.

Rhinoplasty After nasal fillers: you can have a rhinoplasty after having had nasal fillers. By 14 months most of the filler is probably dissolved away. However, depending on how much filler you had and where it was placed, your surgeon might want to remove the filler before surgery to get a more accurate appraisal of your nose. My own preference is to remove it.

Of course you can undergo rhinoplasty even after getting the filler. The surgeon will remove the foreign materials (filler) during the surgery. If the scar tissue is severe then we cannot make it as clear as we want but anyway we will try to remove it as much as we can. The problem after surgery is more swollen and bruised than other patients! No worries it will go away within 2 weeks:)
