I'm a 19 year old woman. 5'2 and around 95 lbs. It bothers me how one side of my nose is shorter and shaped differently compared to the other side, so I'm considering rhinoplasty in order to even it out. How difficult and risky is the procedure to fix an asymmetrical nose compared to other types of rhinoplasty?
Answer: Open Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Just to clarify, if you're interested in improving your nasal tip, this is a common complaint and something that can definitely be addressed with surgery. Many people complain that their nasal tip is too "bulbous" or "boxy" and that they would like it to be smaller, cuter, more defined, more feminine, or even in your case- "more symmetric." An open rhinoplasty can best address the entire nose, and is particularly effective for addressing a bulbous, boxy, or asymmetric nasal tip. It is also very effective for performing complex, precise maneuvers to refine the nasal shape and size to a particular aesthetic and look. Rhinoplasty is arguably the most difficult procedure to perform in all of plastic surgery. That said, I would recommend only going to see a surgeon who feels very comfortable with both primary and revision rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience in these types of surgeries. This is a surgery of millimeters, so if the surgeon you're going to only does 1-2 per month, you are not going to get the best result possible. Of course it is always difficult to provide tentative surgical recommendations, as there is only so much information to be gained from just a single photo. I recommend for you to come see me or another plastic surgeon comfortable with rhinoplasty procedures for a formal consultation to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate all your options (surgical and nonsurgical), and decide on the best procedure(s) for your specific case. I hope this helps! Best wishes, Dr. Donald Groves Plastic Surgeon

Answer: You may not have significant nasal asymmetry to justify nasal surgery. Based on your single photo, you will hear to have a wide appearance of the lower third if your nose, specifically in your tip and nostrils. Your right nostril may be a bit higher than your left and if this is what you're concern is, a permanent non-surgical nose job with microdroplet Silikon-1000 maybe considered to lower your right nostril a millimeter or two. If you are happy with the width of your nose on front view, and if there are no concerns about your profile view, it may be best to avoid rhinoplasty surgery. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty Straightening a twisted or asymmetrical nose is one of the most common reasons for rhinoplasty. We should be able to do that without any difficulty. It would take about an hour and you'd have a cast on my nose for a week. Watch our videos for much more information.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from you photos you have a little facial asymmetry. With rhinoplasty surgery your symmetry can be improved. Please keep in mind that %100 symmetry is not achievable in any case.If you can provide photos with better lighting, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

Answer: Rhinoplasty I don’t think your nose is nearly as asymmetrical as you think it is. However if the nose is narrowed, including the nostrils I think it would look better. Asymmetry itself is difficult to correct
