Results after labia minora reconstruction, what should I do, does it look natural at all? (Photos)

Question

Two years ago I had a labiaplasty where the surgeon removed too much tissue. So, 10 months ago I had a reconstruction with my clitoral hood. The result was very good at first, but after a week I got a massive swelling that did not disappear for many weeks! Now it looks a little bit weird. One long labia, and one short. The Long one is full of wrinkles and does not look connected at all at the bottom. What do you think, what should I do about this? Does it look natural at all?

I suggest you to have a labiaplasty revision evaluation from a skilled cosmetic gynecologist or urogynecologist.  Also, you could require clitoral hood contouring. Finding the right surgeon may require some travel, but the effort will be well worth it.

As the inventor and innovator of the wedge technique in 1994, I reconstruct many women who have had labia reductions by other surgeons, both wedge and trimming techniques​. You had a trimming labiaplasty which resulted in asymmetry, excess clitoral hood, and scalloping.  The reconstruction is much more difficult than a primary labiaplasty and should be done by a plastic surgeon with extensive experience in labia reconstruction. I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" about eleven years ago. You need various reconstructive techniques to give you a good appearance. You can have a much better appearance by a very skilled reconstructive labiaplasty surgery.  I would do a wedge on your right to make ir more symmetrical to the left and also some small wedges on the left to even it out.  Approximately 40% of the surgeries I perform are revisions of other surgeons' labiaplasties. You only get one good chance to reconstruct you, so be patient and ask a lot of questions.

hello, a small correction procedure can be done on the long side. Sometimes it may be necessary to have one or two operations to get the exact shape you want. because tissue healing can be different each time.

Q1. Does it look natural at all?

A 1. No, it does not. The original surgeon changed the natural look of the labia minora from a rounded shape to a straight look and created an unnatural monolithic configuration.  Both sides of the labia minora fused and everted postoperatively. A corrective surgeon did not address your problems and only fragment.

Q2. What should I do?  
If you do not have symptoms and accept the aesthetic outcomes, do not do anything.  
If you are having symptoms or significant dis-satisfaction from surgeries, I do for my referred patients in such conditions the following corrective operations:
1. Correcting fusion and eversion,
2. Expending the labia minora tissue,
3.  Establishing the requested length, symmetry, and natural look surgically.
