I am 5ft 6" and weigh 48kgs. I know this is slightly underweight but I eat well and have a very active job. Am I too thin to be considered for surgery? I am 32b cup wanting to be about a Dcup. Thanks

Answer: Too Skinny for Breast Augmentation? No, being “skinny” is not a contraindication to breast augmentation surgery. However, your body type may dictate how large of a breast implant can be safely used and what type of breast implant ( probably silicone gel) will best achieve your goals. When the time is right, seek consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work and communicate your goals clearly. In my practice, I prefer the use of goal pictures to help with this communication process. I hope this helps.

Answer: Implant Size to move from B to D cup While you are not a too thin to have breast augmentation, you should consider whether your goal to move from B to D cup will be appropriate. The size of the implants are based on a combination of a patient's goals and objectives and her anatomy. In order to provide a natural looking augmentation, the surgeon needs to evaluate many factors including soft tissue coverage, skin laxity, chest wall width, breast imprint width, the shape of the breasts and relative level of constriction to ensure that the breast implants are appropriate for your body.Consult in person with 3 experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons to understand your options.
