Yes, your nose could certainly be made "shorter" and less pointy looking. I think you have realistic concerns based on your photos. Find a good facial plastic surgeon in your area and set up a consultation!
Set up a consultation with a surgeon who can provide you a realistic impression of what can be done based upon your anatomy. Yes, a nose can be shortened and a tip made less pointy. The extent of which this is possible for you is based upon your anatomy. Best wishes on your journey.
You can have a more refined nose that is natural in appearance with a rhinoplasty to deproject the tip and reduce the pointy nature. I perform these surgeries with closed technique to preserve the structure of the nose and minimize visible scarring.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Rhinoplasty for the overprojected nose etc. can give you what you wamt with a natural looking nose IF u see an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does natural looking noses.
hugojellybean, interesting name there; yes to both of your questions by the way. Seek the opinion of several facial plastic specialists with over 10 years of experience. Look at their web sites and make sure they have photos of patients similar to you. I have over 200 photos on my site. Do your homework before you visit and see more than one surgeon. Good luck!
Yes, a rhinoplasty procedure can de-project the overly projecting nose. This is accomplished with a variety of techniques such as reduction of the dorsal septum, a tip rhinoplasty and reducing the prominent caudal septum and nasal spine. All this can be accomplished with closed rhinoplasty techniques to avoid an external scar. For many examples, please see the link below
The areas that concern youcan be realistically cosmetically improved with a rhinoplasty.Keep in mind that followingadvice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell youexactly what to do based on limited two dimensional photos without examiningyou, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking afull medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operativeprocedure would not be in your best surgery. Natural appearing results need tobe individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarilythe best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon certified bythe American Board of American Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a memberof The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plasticsurgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trust and are comfortable with. You shoulddiscuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.Robert Singer, M.D., FACSLa Jolla, California
You would certainly be a good candidate for a rhinoplasty. The nasal tip can be reset like contracting a tripod to give you a nose that is in better proportion to the rest of your face. Computer imaging is a educational too to give you a idea of what can be accomplished by a rhinoplasty.
You look like a good candidate for a full rhinoplasty. I suggest you visit our website and submit these photos to the new look now program. It will provide you with an estimate of what your new nose can look like.
Sure. However, you will need to consult with someone who is well versed in those surgeries because I think your nose is a challanging one from a technical point of view. Pleas make sure you choose an ASAPS member who has done a lot of nose surgeries.Best of luck,Shady Hayek, M.D.Beirut, Lebanon
Hello. A septal perforation is potentially amenable to surgical repair. Factors include size and location of the perforation. Options include a closed approach (surgery performed entirely within the nose) or open approach (involves elevation of the soft tissue envelope of the nose)....
The photographs demonstrate an already upturned tip, so lifting the nostrils will only lift the tip even more and give more nostril show. Lifting the nostrils are only used for patients with a down turned tip. For many examples of lifting the nostrils for a downturned tip, please see the...
The nose is very sensitive after surgery. Just touching the nose too roughly may make it feel like it has rebroken. If you have any concerns you should always call your surgeon. If your nose looks the same as before you hit it then you are most likely fine.
