Normal after Obagi Blue Peel Radiance trratment, administered at a clinic (photo)

I had this done 4 days ago, was advided no down time but would experience redness and peeling. White fluid filled blisters formed around my mouth area on day 2 and 3. Some have leaked, some have dried out. Post treatment I was advised to cleanse and moisturise my skin with Cetaphil and use Heliocare spf of 50 and was tinted so redness wasnt noticable. I done this until day 3. I visited the clinic and was advised stop using and only clean face with saline liquid and apply aloe vera.

The type of preconditioning of the skin prior to the prep may have affected the final outcome. I recommend using a retinoid program starting 2-4 weeks prior to the Blue peel. See link below for differnt strength retinoid products (Level 1, level 2 and level 3). H Karamanoukian MD FACS

The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel is a salic acid peel. It should not be used on anyone with an allergy to aspirin. Some patients with rosacea or sensitive skin can have a reaction to chemical peels. In this case I would choose a mild lactic acid to avoid irritation. Also, the products applied to...
