Juvederm for tear troughs. Do coffee and nicotine gum affect the fillers? (Photo)

Here’s a photo of my progress from my first Juvederm Tear Troughs Fillers (top: before, middle: 2 weeks, bottom: after). Only with 1 syringe. I’m loving the results, clearly seen from top compared to bottom photo. It’s been 1 month but started to feel that it’s wearing off with some fine lines. I workout a lot (heavy weights and HIIT). Consume quite a lot of coffee plus on nicotine gums, quit smoking about 1.5 months ago. Does this affect the fillers?

Number of syringes varies from patient to patient but in our office and experience, the majority of patients doing lip injections only need 1 syringe to achieve the results they are looking for.  We keep their purchased syringe for them for touch ups up to two weeks after just in case...

The dark laugh lines can be improved depending on the cause of the color change. If there is extra pigment within the crease, bleaching creams or light/laser treatments can help remove the color. If the darkness is due to shadowing from the depth of the crease, then fillers can be used to help...

Juvederm can lump at times. It's a very soft product. Eventually, the lumps should go away. There is a reversal agent that can be potentially injected into the lips to dissolve the lumps. By and large, there should be nothing to be concerned about. If you wait it out, the lumps should eventually...
