Juvederm for tear troughs. Do coffee and nicotine gum affect the fillers? (Photo)

Here’s a photo of my progress from my first Juvederm Tear Troughs Fillers (top: before, middle: 2 weeks, bottom: after). Only with 1 syringe. I’m loving the results, clearly seen from top compared to bottom photo. It’s been 1 month but started to feel that it’s wearing off with some fine lines. I workout a lot (heavy weights and HIIT). Consume quite a lot of coffee plus on nicotine gums, quit smoking about 1.5 months ago. Does this affect the fillers?

Thanks for your question. You have very pretty and full lips. I certainly would not recommend more than one syringe at a time for a case like yours. As far as if this will be enough will depend on your goals! See an experienced injector/physician only.Good luck. Dr. ALDO

Hi and thank you for your question.  These lines/ folds can easily be treated with filler.  The changes in color that you see is how the light is hitting your face, causing shadowing, which accentuates the laugh lines (nasolabial folds) as well as the corners of the mouth (marionette lines).  Wi...

I suggest you go see your injector/physician. Late swelling is a concern and you need an evaluation. This may require additional hyaluronidase and it is known to be occur uncommonly with juvederm.Good luck. Dr. ALDO

Is it safe to combine Juvederm 3 (UK) with Juvederm Ultra (USA)?

Yes, it is fine to combine fillers. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers.  I hope this helps.

Should I take Tylenol instead of Advil for my severe pain before filler injections?

Thanks for this common question. Tylenol is the answer as it does not affect the platelets which are important in blood coagulation. Ibuprofen increases the risks of bruising/bleeding so it is better to avoid.Good luck! Dr. ALDO

Thanks! I always start patients at 1 mL. The best plan always includes a full correction of the problem at hand. You are likely to be dissappointed with only a partial correction.Good luck. Dr. ALDO
