I just had my bbl almost 24 hours ago. When can I take off and wash my garment?

Question

I'm assuming I need to clean my access sites as well so is it safe to remove to do so? It's full of the bloody fluid. My post op appointment is tomorrow so about 39 hours later.

Thank you for your question.In our practice, we allow patients to shower the day after surgery for a BBL, and we let patients know that they can launder the garments while they are in the shower.However, every plastic surgeon has their own protocols for patients following surgery, and they know your individual case better than I do.  I would contact your doctor and see what they recommend for you.  Best of luck!

Firstly, you should ask your surgeon. In my practice we try to see our patients 1 day after surgery and we change their 1st dressings for them and issue a 2nd garment. The beautiful thing about BBL is that it allows you to
lose fat from the areas where you have more than enough, while adding that same
fat to the areas where you do not have enough! That way both the donor and the
recipient sites improve. Yes, you are a good BBL candidate. You will likely do
very well and enjoy a nice outcome. Good luck!
