How can I improve scar on chin? (photos)

My scar over the past year has become lumpy on each sides on my scar. Is there anything I can do to benefit my scar and flatten it? I was thinking to do RF micro needling.

Hello @Vivid4407 thank you for your question. The best way to find out what you need is to schedule a consultation; there are several non-surgical treatments to diminish the scarring process. Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

The therapy of choice--that has a more than five decades long track record for efficacy-- for flattening elevated, "proud flesh" (hypertrophic) scars remains intralesional injections of anti-inflammatory agents, such as triamcinolone. Relatively expensive, faddish, Johnny-come-lately "bells and whistles" devices, like RF and fraxel lasers may be heavily supported by a whole lot of device manufactuer marketing hype, but, to date, still lack the hard science to support their use. So, make sure to see a board certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive scar treatment experience, and best of luck.

Scars like these can be improved with a combination of vascular lasers like Yellow laser, Aerolase, PDL, Vbeam, BBL and Excel V, microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Hello, Scar after having an injury or acne is one of the most common issues in facial aesthetics. There are treatments available for these conditions. Your best option is to do microneedling with PRP. Microneedling treatment can be used for acne scars and other types of scars.
