Using facial products after rhinoplasty?

I had my rhinoplasty 3 weeks ago, and i've been really careful with the skin products that i use. But i was wondering if its ok to use some deep cleansing products like exfoliators and facial masks? I still have some slight brusing under my eyes, and i'm worried that it might make it worse.

Thanks for your surgeon. It is always best to follow your surgeon's recommendations, but I see no problem with using and exfoliator. Be sure to be gentle and avoid putting too much pressure or pulling on your nose. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL

So long as you don't pull on the skin and rub hard on the incision scars, facial skin care products should be safe. You should avoid peeling agents for 6 weeks in general. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.  Three weeks after a rhinoplasty, skincare should not be a problem - unless you are applying it directly on an external incision.  Then ask your surgeon.  Only skin procedures that might compromise blood flow or exacerbate swelling should be avoided - such as deep lasers. Care should also be taken with facials not to manipulate the nose.  With these precautions in mind, there is no reason to neglect your skin as you heal from your surgery.  Good luck.
